James G. Buis and Malcolm Holland Elected to SRS Real Estate Partners Board

2010 JAN 8 - (VerticalNews.com) -- James G. Buis and Malcolm Holland were elected to the board of SRS Real Estate Partners as outside board members. Mr. Holland is a banking specialist, currently serving as President and CEO of Vertiex Holdings. Mr. Buis brings many years of retail real estate experience to the board from his careers with Regency Centers, Lincoln Properties, and Rosewood, among others.

James Buis recently retired from his position as managing director for the Central region after 10 years with Regency Centers, a national developer and operator of over 400 shopping centers. In 1993, Mr. Buis was one of the founders of Madison Property Company, the forerunner of Pacific Retail Trust, where he acquired and managed a portfolio of centers valued at over $400 million. Pacific Retail Trust merged with Regency Centers in 1999, when Mr. Buis joined Regency as managing director.

"James really shares our vision of making SRS Real Estate Partners the company of choice for our clients," said Clay Smith, CEO and President of SRS Real Estate Partners. "He embodies the strong ethics and shared values that our company represents."

Chris Maguire, Chairman of the Board, added, "James is a true innovator in shopping center development, from his involvement in originating Lincoln Property's retail development division, through his work at Regency. We are very pleased to have him join us at SRS Real Estate Partners."

Malcolm Holland began his banking career at First City Bank, and then moved to Capital Bank in 1984 as Vice President of commercial lending. In September 1985, he became an organizer and Executive Vice President of EastPark National Bank, a de novo bank that opened in May 1986. Fidelity Bank purchased EastPark in 1995, and Mr. Holland became Executive Vice President, head of commercial lending. In February 1998, Fidelity Bank was sold to Compass Bank, where he served as Senior Vice President, head of Business Banking. In July 2000, Mr. Holland accepted the job of President of First Mercantile Bank, which was later acquired by Colonial Bank. He was appointed CEO of the Texas Region for Colonial Bank in March 2003. Mr. Holland is currently President and CEO of Vertiex Holdings, a new venture bank holding company.

Clay Smith stated, "With Malcolm Holland's expertise in banking and commercial lending, he is a natural expert to advise SRS Real Estate Partners as we continue to grow."

Chris Maguire added, "Malcolm's involvement in all aspects of commercial lending and understanding of branch banking will allow him to help lead SRS Real Estate Partners in service of our clients. And his dedication to teamwork means that he will mesh perfectly with our corporate family."
