Martin has been in the commercial real estate business since 2000. At SRS, he focuses on Project Leasing, Tenant Representation and Investment Sales of Retail Properties throughout Alabama, Mississippi and Tennessee.
Before joining SRS, Martin was the director of retail brokerage and project leasing at Retail Specialists, Inc. for seven years, where he represented national, regional, and local retailers and real estate owners in their market development, site selection, and contract negotiations throughout the Southeastern United States. Prior to Retail Specialists, Inc., Martin spent five years with RGS Properties, Inc., focusing on site selection and grocery-anchored retail development and leasing.
Martin is currently responsible for leading a team of real estate professionals, with a project leasing portfolio consisting of several million square feet, including property types such as Grocery Anchored centers, Urban Mixed-Use, Lifestyle, and Power Centers. His experience includes having worked with owners ranging from independent, merchant developers to some of the largest, most respected shopping center owners and REITs in the country, including Inland, InvenTrust, The Carlyle Group, Cypress Equities, EB Arrow Retail, DDR, KITE and STORE Capital. He is also instrumental in the rollout of some of the greatest brands in retail, dining, and entertainment, with a broad tenant representation client list, including the likes of Main Event, Shoe Carnival, Moe’s Southwest Grill, Freddy’s Frozen Custard and Steakburgers, Metro Diner, Discount Tire, Speedway, Hand and Stone, Results Physiotherapy, Teriyaki Madness, Burger Fi, Tecovas, American Eagle, Simply Mac, and more.
In 2017, Martin was named to the list of Who’s Who in Birmingham Commercial Real Estate and earned 1st Place as the Top Producer for Sales and Leasing for the Birmingham Commercial Realtors Council. In 2013, he earned a spot on Birmingham Business Journal’s “Top 40 Under 40” list. In 2008 and the years 2010-2022, he received the coveted CoStar Power Broker Award. With SRS, he has been named Top Achiever several years and Top Producer in 2021 and 2022. Martin graduated with a bachelor’s degree from the University of Alabama. He proudly carries the CCIM designation and sits on the local CCIM Board of Directors.
